The Seated Man helps promote the Rumble

It was a lovely morning so I headed up to the moors, beyond the Lion Inn on the Hutton – Castleton road, to visit the Seated Man sculpture. I’d had a creative idea!

The Seated Man

The painted bronze statue was created by artist Sean Henry and commissioned by the David Ross Foundation. David Ross is the co-founder of the UK company Carphone Warehouse and owns the land the statue stands on.

The Seated Man was put up in June 2017, and is so far proving to be a big draw for tourists and visitors prepared to hike the half a mile from the road to see it. The figure gazes out over Westerdale contemplating the landscape and is due to remain in place for five years.

One of the Rumble team had bought an Instagram Selfie Board from Amazon and we’d used it when the TDY sped past Kirkbymoorside. A few spectators had selfies done holding it up and then added the appropriate hashtags when they uploaded their pics, great publicity for the Rumble.

But it had sat in the office since then doing nothing … until now.

Luckily there was no one up there when I went up armed with the board – I didn’t fancy explaining what I was up to!

Here’s the results:

We’re using these images across all our social media platforms where hopefully they’ll catch some attention, spread awareness of the Rumble and the beautiful North York Moors and, oh yesssss, encourage even more sign ups!!
