Yesterday was a great day as we learnt that our application to the Local Distinctiveness/ Tourism Fund has been successful!
Many thanks to the North York Moors National Park Authority for our grant of £7,402.24.
This will be directed towards project costs for medical support, promotion, advertising and film creation. The main objective of the grant is to help us re-establish the Ryedale Rumble as an annual event on the cycling calendar. Thanks to NYMNPA we will now be able to step up our publicity drive, beginning this weekend, and make sure cyclists far and wide know about the Ryedale Rumble.
To kick off our grant supported promotional work on Sunday we’re delighted to have film maker and photographer Polly Baldwin of Dynamic Pictures and drone pilot Finn Barnaby of Unique Perspective making a short promotional film for us.
We’ll be at various locations starting at Byland Abbey at 8.00am filming a team of riders keen to help us promote the ride. We’ll then head off to Cropton and Rosedale finishing at Hutton le Hole. We’re also really excited to have 15 members of the amazing Kirkbymoorside Brass Band playing for us as our riders attempt Chimney Bank.
Finn and Polly will also be out on the route on July 29th making a film of the event to help us promote it in 2019.
If you’re cycling in the area on Sunday morning and wish to be in the film do make yourself known. The timings are roughly:
Byland Abbey – 8.00am
Cropton by the National Park sign – 10.00am
Drone filming on road to Rosedale – 10.30am
Meet up Graze on the Green cafe, Rosedale – 11.30
Chimney Bank – noon
then Spaunton Moor and Hutton le Hole.
Let’s hope the sun shines …
