A creative Sunday

Thanks to the grant from the North York Moors National Park Authority we have been able to go ahead with our film making plans.

Yesterday we teamed up with Polly Baldwin of Dynamic Pictures and licensed drone pilot Finn Barnaby of Unique Perspective, as well as lots of pals who came with their super cool bikes on a decidedly chilly Sunday morning. It was an early start, 8.00am at Byland Abbey:

We love our Ryedale Rumble jerseys – available to order soon!

We then went on to Cropton and met up with Piers Maffett from Cycle Heaven who had cycled over from York with three friends.

It was great to have five students from Ryedale School helping with the filming too – big thanks to Toby and Herbert Antcliffe, Freddie and Henry Singleton and Isaac Thompson.

In Cropton the drone was used for the first time:

Then we headed off to Rosedale where we met up with the Kirkbymoorside Town Brass Band, next … Chimney Bank:

The band were brilliant coping with the freezing wind and playing on!

More local support was provided by Sarah Glover from Birdgate Dental Practice, sponsor of our Ryedale Rumble mugs, who joined us, along with husband Lawrence:

Lots of riders from the York Rally sportive were on Chimney Bank when we were filming and doubtless will have enjoyed being serenaded by the band. Thanks to organiser Pete Dunn, who gave our flyers to his riders – hopefully they will be up for taking on our challenge in July.

Thank you also to Fi Singleton, member of Friends of Ryedale School, who co-ordinated so much of the day as well as being on her bike for much of it.

And finally, the Ryedale Rumble has a deserved reputation for yummy snacks so thank you to race director Lizzie for hot drinks and all these cakes and biscuits – so appreciated.

We’re looking forward to presenting the film to you in around ten days time – can’t wait!
