Film of the Ryedale Rumble 2019

We were delighted to welcome a Ryedale School Year 10 student, Lucus Higham as a volunteer on the day of the Rumble but didn’t quite know what a talented individual he was when turned up ‘offering to help’.

After assisting with the rider’s briefing Lucus spent the rest of the day on the course taking photographs and filming interviews with the riders. Then, once he got home, he produced this fantastic film which beautifully captures the day:

This voluntary work goes towards his bronze Duke of Edinburgh award and already he’s said he’d like to help out next year!

Many thanks Lucus – it’s great to have you as part of the team Rumble.

What a day!

There’s a full report with pics to follow but for the moment safe to say we were thrilled with how the Ryedale Rumble went on Sunday. Unlike last year the weather was kind to us and apart from a stiff wind on Blakey Bank (when isn’t there?) the sun shone and the feedback from the riders was amazing. Piers from Cycle Heaven said simply:

This is the best cycle sportive in the world!

Thank you to all the riders who took part and supported our fundraising for Ryedale School. It’s a massive effort from all our volunteers at HQ and all around the route but worth it for the amazing responses we got from weary but happy riders as they returned home.
